Stress Relief Tea
Traditional recipe for de-stressing and uplifting
and soothing the nerves

Soothes and nourishes the nervous system
Supports ability to cope with stress and anxiety
Helps to lift and balance moods
Promotes healthy physiological nerve function
Suitable for adults, children and babies

Directions
Enjoy 1-3 cups daily as an invigorating 'pick-me-up' instead of coffee or tea. For full uplifting benefit and easing of stress and tension take 3 cups daily for 3-6 months. This is also a healing tea for general nerve function and can be safely taken longer for maintenance.

For Mood Support and Convalescence
For full therapeutic benefit in mild depression take three cups a day (3x 1000mg=3g of herb) for a minimum of 3 months. It is best to continue taking St John's Wort for up to 6 months in order to prevent a relapse. St John's Wort can be taken on an ongoing basis - there is no time limit for taking it. As with all mood-modulating medicines the properties of St John's Wort need to be built up over a period of 12-14 days before its anti-depressant actions start to take effect. An increase in energy and wellbeing is often experienced earlier.

Nerve Injuries
For physiological strains and injuries to the nervous system, taking the therapeutic dose of 3 cups a day (3x 1000mg=3g of herb) is recommended.

Energising Tonic
ARTEMIS St John's Wort-Tea is an ideal energising drink that can be taken instead of black tea as a caffeine-free everyday beverage. St John's Wort is an ideal remedy in convalescence to increase vitality and energy levels. It is well suited for children as well as adults. I personally drink St John's Wort-Tea every morning as my breakfast drink. It helps me to get into the swing of the day!

Herb Properties
St Johns Wort (Hypericum perforatum)

St John's Wort is one of Europe's most sacred herbs. In recent times, the scientific community has taken a keen interest in the medicinal properties of this valuable plant and we are now in the fortunate position to have its old traditional uses validated by science. It is proven to have antidepressant, nervine, antiviral, vulnerary (wound healing) and antiseptic actions.

Pharmacological studies have further shown that St John's Wort is beneficial in conditions requiring increased nocturnal melatonin plasma levels (e.g. circadian rhythm-associated sleep disorders/Seasonal Affective disorder SAD). They have also shown beneficial outcomes for the prevention and treatment of acute and chronic infections caused by enveloped viruses, e.g. cold sores, herpes genitalis, chicken pox, shingles, glandular fever, cytomegalovirus infection and viral hepatitis. It may also have potential as an anti-cancer treatment.

Traditionally St John's Wort was used particularly for nervous afflictions (nervousness, mild psychological disorders, excitability, menopausal anxiety, hysteria) and for physiological disorders of the spine (spinal injuries, neuralgia, sciatica and muscular rheumatism). Its claimed diuretic and astringent properties were used to treat urinary problems, diarrhoea, dysentery, parasitic infestations, jaundice, haemorrhages, menorrhagia (excessive menstrual bleeding) and bed-wetting.

In herbal folklore, it was said that if you kept St John's Wort in your house, the sun would never stop shining on you! This sacred European plant, that has now reached worldwide fame, has an affinity with the sun and stands out for its extraordinary ability to capture and transform sunlight into nerve strengthening nutrients. These, when taken internally, lighten up our psyche and bring healing to our nervous system.
